Santiago de Compostella

31st March 2010

A full ‘Convento do Carmen’ in Santiago for Purcell Fantazias & Songs with Clare. Freezing cold and wringing damp made tuning difficult, but by the time the concert came, the strings couldn’t absorb any more water, so they were pretty stable in the end. Stephen Harrold (of the Hiliard Ensemble) and Richard Gwilt (of London Baroque) are there, waiting for their respective ensembles to arrive, and we have wonderful tapas etc. afterwards.

Thank you so much for the concert last night in Santiago de Compostela. I enjoyed it very much, and I paid so much attention because I´m starting to play Gamba and all tne details I could aprecciate will help me a lot, I,m sure.

I loved the program yoy have choosen for the ocassion, and also you made a fantastic work even with the difficulties about weather and so on.

I have to say that I never tried this church before, but i liked the acoustic very much.

I hope you come here again soon. Best regards and all the best from a Galician fan.
