The Goldbergs

Last Thursday we played the Goldberg Variations complete for the first time; we played all the repeats and the whole piece was about 90 minutes. It was quite nerve-wracking, especially the first half; but the second half was a more enjoyable experience, as we found our way of playing the piece. It’s quite unlike anything else we do. The audience seemed to appreciate our efforts. At King’s Place, we’ll play it without repeats in order to fit it into the hour slot we have for it.
