‘Birds on Fire’ is the title of the piece written for Fretwork in 2001 by Orlando Gough, based on Aaron Appelbaum’s novel ‘Badenheim 1939’. The disc also contains music by the jewish families of musicians brought to England by Henry VIII in 1540, the Lupos and Bassanos.
