Fretwork’s Programmes

After initially exploring the ‘golden age’ of consort music, Fretwork began commissioning new music for viol consort in 1990, with works by George Benjamin, Michael Nyman, Elvis Costello, Sir John Tavener and many others. Now, it is able to present a range of programmes featuring music of all ages, from the earliest 16th-Century consort music through to Beethoven, Debussy, Britten, and Benjamin. Few other ensembles can offer such an extraordinarily wide range of repertories. Please click on the images below to view some of our most popular programmes.
